Roma President James Pallotta has confirmed that defender Leandro Castán has agreed a new two year contract with the Giallorossi.
The 27 year-old, who was signed from Corinthians for €5.5 million in 2012, has formed an excellent central defensive partnership alongside Morocco international Mehdi Benatia this season.
“We are extremely happy and honoured to have extended Castan’s contract by two years,” noted Palotta, as reported by Football Italia.
“He is one of the main reasons why our defence was so strong last season. We want him to be here wearing the Roma shirt for many more years.”
Castan has been ever-present for Roma this term, making 36 appearances in Serie A.
