Brazilian defender Naldo has agreed a new contract at German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg to extend his stay in Germany to over a decade.
The 31 year-old joined rivals Werder Bremen in 2005 and after seven years at the club, moved to Wolfsburg in 2012, helping them to an impressive fifth-place finish this season.
Director of Sport at Wolfsburg, Klaus Allofs, said of the news: “Naldo is a true leader who proved how important he is to the team throughout the course of the season.”
“With his experience and character, he is also a vitally important contact person for the younger players.”
Naldo said of his new deal: “I want to continue playing successful football with Wolfsburg. A lot of faith has been placed in me here and I want to pay that back with good perfromances.”
“I feel right at home in Wolfsburg and my family is happy here. For that reason, I am very happy about the contract extension.”
