Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has siggested that his player Neymar’s form has been dented following the media circus that has surrounded his transfer to the club in the summer of last year.

An unsettled 2014 hasn’t really seen the best of Brazil’s enigmatic star, and Martino has come to his defence: “His position on the pitch hasn’t changed much since his return (from a month’s injury).”

“As a left winger or centre forward his performances have been very good. He’s fine playing in any of the three attcking positions. Coming back from a month out it’s always hard to get your rhythm back.”

“If I had to choose a reason I’d say it was from things off the pitch.”

Barca travel to Real Madrid in next weeks Clasico, a title decider. Before then, Neymar et al will be hoping to put Osasuna to bed in Sunday’s fixture.
