Internacional striker Rafael Moura has spoken of his delight at the start he and his team have made to 2014 and vowed to maintain performance levels that have seen him bag seven goals in as many games.

“I believe that when you start the year well, the confidence builds up and when it reaches the end of the season, it is easier to maintain on good performance. It also depends on the physical form becasue when you do well, it means you have had a strong pre-season.”

“We’ve had great preparation since the arrival of Abel (Braga, Internacional head coach) and hope to have a satisfactory level when there is a marathon of games.”

Something of a footballing nomad, Moura has played for no fewer than nine Brazilian clubs without a notable success to date. The 30 year-old will be hoping that 2014 is the year in which he adds to a solitary Copa do Brasil, which he won while at Fluminense in 2007.
