Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera has set his sights on shocking the rest of the World Cup this summer and even suggested that his team can return the favour of the Brazil side of 1970- and win the tournament in South America come July 13.

Herrera’s bold statement comes ahead of the tournament in which they will actually face Brazil, as well as Cameroon and Croatia.

“There is no doubt that Mexico will play a different World Cup this time,” Herrera told reporters, “and maybe we choose to make Brazil the story, the same way that Brazil chose a Mexican World Cup to make history.”

The Latin America’s best finish at a World Cup has been a quarter final appearance (twice) but Herrera sees no reason why 2014 can’t be their year.
