Croatia head coach Nico Kovac has said that being paired with Brazil for the opening game of this summer’s World Cup is an honur for his nation, and that they are looking forward to sampling the unique atmosphere that is the trditional curtain-raiser.

Speaking with reporters at FIFA workshop in Florianapolis, Kovac said of the occasion: “Immediately after the draw we said that the opening of the World Cup is a privilege and an honour for every team.”

“We are proud to take part in that match, a great atmosphere is awaiting us and we will provide our maximum to present Croatia to the world in the best of light.”

Brazil and Croatia will contend Group A at alongside Cameroon and Mexico.
