Atlético-MG have settled their outstanding debts with players after star-player Ronaldinho used his influence to lobby on behalf of his team mates.

According to Lancenet, the former Barcelona star only signed a one-year contract extension with the Galo on the condition that outstanding salary owed to other players would be paid.

According to the source, the Belo Horizonte club settled their debts soon after.

Like many Brazilian clubs, Atlético-MG face financial issues and club president Alexandre Kalil recently admitted that the club were “having problems with players’ salaries.”

33-year-old Ronaldinho joined Atletico in June 2012 and won the Copa Libertadores with them a year later – the first time he or they had lifted the trophy.
