The attacker will travel to Uruguay to sign a five-year contract before returning to Brazil to be presented as an Atlético-PR player on Monday.

Bruno Mendes now knows where he will be plying his trade in 2014. He left Botafogo on December 31 after the Rio club opted not to renew the 19-year-old’s contract. He will now sign with Uruguay’s Deportivo Maldonado before being loaned out to Curitiba club Atlético-PR.

Bruno’s economic rights belong to the Haz group, who discovered the player in Macaé.

After starring for Guaraní, Bruno joined Botafogo in 2012 and scored on his debut. His goals attracted a lot of interest but in 2013 he did not get the run of games that he wished and spent much of the time on the bench. He scored five goals in 26 appearances.
