Alex Teixeira and Douglas Costa have committed their long-term futures to Shakhtar Donetsk with new five-year contracts.

Costa has been a big hit since he moved to the Donbass Arena from Grêmio for €6 million in January 2010, helping his side to four successive domestic titles.

Likewise, Teixeira also made the move from Brazil to the Ukraine during the same transfer window, leaving Vasco da Gama for €6m, and has been an integral part of Shakhtar’s domestic dominance.

The young Brazilians have caught the eye of Premier League and Serie A clubs after their displays in the Champions League in recent seasons.

However, the duo, who have represented the Seleção at Under-20 level, will remain in the Ukraine until the summer of 2018, after the club confirmed the contract extensions on their official website.

Shakhtar currently have ten Brazilian players on their books after recruiting Fluminense’s Wellington Nem, Grêmio midfielder Fernando and Fred from Internacional this summer.
