Arsenal have joined the race to sign Atlético Mineiro young star Bernard, according to reports in Brazilian press.
O Tempo claims that the Gunners are set to make a tempting offer for Bermard, close to the €25 million that Atlético Mineiro demand to sell him.
The Brazilian site reports that Tottenham, Dortmund, Shakhtar and FC Porto are also still interested.
Bernard’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci has strong connections with English football, and according to O Tempo, Arsenal already have all statistical data needed to evaluate the possibility of signing the winger.
Bernard dreams of playing in the World Cup next year, and is not so willing to play in Eastern Europe as he would be “hidden” there.
FC Porto, however, are considered a good option, and could be used as a stepping stone before moving to a bigger league.
Atlético Mineiro will play the Libertadores final against Olimpia, and any negotiation is expected to advance only after the tournament is over.
