Botafogo’s goalkeeper Jefferson hopes to stay at the club despite the ongoing financial difficulties.
The goalkeeper has one of the highest salaries at the club and he has been previously linked to Napoli and Manchester United but he remained at the club.
Jefferson talked with Lancenet about his plans, when asked if he wants to stay at Botafogo, he said: “No doubt about that. I have my place at Botafogo, people like and recognize me.
“I will only leave if it’s interesting for the club. We know the club have financial difficulties, the problem with the salaries, selling a player could help Botafogo.
“If there is an offer and Botafogo find it interesting, we will sit down to talk about it.”
