Former Barcelona defender Edmilson feels that Santos star Neymar could emulate Ronaldinho’s success at the Catalan club.
The Brazil international continues to be linked with a move to Barca, where Ronaldinho made his name as the best player in the world and won numerous titles.
Edmilson, who made 70 appearances during four years at Camp Nou, thinks that Neymar can achieve similar accolades to his compatriot should he make the switch.
The 36-year-old told La Xarxa: “Neymar has a character like Ronnie [Ronaldinho], he plays football very cheerful, very fun, very spontaneous and with this commitment from Leo [Messi] to beat records every season, they can do great things together.
“He is focused and uncomplicated, so the fans will love him."
Edmilson also believes that the 21-year-old has achieved everything possible in his homeland and thinks that a move to Europe should be imminent.
He added: “In Brazil he has already done it all, he does not have any challenges left in Brazil. He should go to Barca and he will perform greatly."
