World Cup winner Rivaldo announced that he will return to Mogi Mirim’s presidency as the league stage of the São Paulo State Championship ends this Sunday.

Rivaldo joined São Caetano in January, after a spell in Angola, where he played for Kabuscorp. He had previously played in Spain, Italy, Greece and Uzbekistan.

The former Brazil national team star could not live up to his reputation though, and São Caetano were relegated in the state league, the first time Rivaldo was relegated in his career.

Rivaldo posted on his twitter account: “Tomorrow I’ll become president of Mogi Mirim again. I couldn’t do so before as they were playing in the same competition as São Caetano.”

He will also keep playing for São Caetano despite becoming president of Mogi Mirim again.

São Caetano will play in Brazil’s National Second Division during the rest of the season while Mogi Mirim will play in the Third Division.
