Lazio star Hernanes believes Saturday’s showdown with Milan “will be decisive” in the race for a Champions League spot.
The Biancocelesti reclaimed third place with a 2-0 win at home to Pescara at the weekend, and have subsequently moved two points clear of the Rossoneri.
Hernanes believes the result was important for their hopes to play in Europe’s top competition, but says next weekend is even more important.
He said: “Last night we had an important result that boosts confidence and revives spirits for this final part of the season.
“After five rounds without a win, we were rewarded for our efforts and remain in the Champions League places, which are our ultimate objective.
“At the weekend we have another very important game, one that will be decisive. There are only two months left this season, so from now on every match will be decisive and can define our path in this campaign.”
The Serie A clash at the San Siro is due to kick off at 19:45 BST on Saturday March 2.
