São Paulo"s Luís Fabiano has urged Seleção sensation Neymar to snub Manchester City and sign for Barcelona, a team the striker twice came close to signing for.

In an interview with Xarxa Radio, Fabiano discussed the possiblilty of Neymar moving abroad and believes Spain is the ideal destination for the Santos forward.

“Neymar is very good but he needs experience playing in Europe. It is very competitive there, but the two of them playing together would be very difficult to stop," said Fabiano.

“Because of Neymar"s playing style I think the best place for him to go is Spain, and Barça play the best football in Europe."

Fabiano also revealed that he came close twice to signing for the Catalan giants but claims Sevilla stood in his way of a dream move.

“It nearly happened, you would have to ask Del Nido [Sevilla president] why it did not, he didn"t want to let me leave Sevilla," revealed Fabiano.

“I had two opportunities to sign for them but in the end Del Nido did not accept their offer, he always made life difficult for me.

“It would have been the greatest moment of my career to play at Barça with so many great players, but the chance came and went."
