QPR goalkeeper and former Inter favourite Julio Cesar has praised his ex-teammate Philippe Coutinho, describing him as a ‘golden boy’.

The two compatriots have parted ways since their days at Inter with Coutinho now at Liverpool having recently scored on his Anfield debut.

Cesar believes the Brazilian has the potential for great things and will establish himself at the Merseyside giants.

“I hope he can do well in a Liverpool shirt”, the goalkeeper told Tutto Mercato. “I send him my best wishes for his new adventure at Liverpool.

“I am convinced that he will prove his quality because off the pitch he really is a golden boy and he’ll be able to assert himself.”

Coutinho will be eager to further establish himself in Brendan Rodgers’ plans as they visit Wigan Athletic in the Premier League next weekend hoping to bury memories of their exit from the Europa League despite a 3-1 win over Zenit St Petersburg.
