Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has effectively ruled out a move for Santos star Neymar in the summer after admitting the Bundesliga giants would not be splashing out.

Hoeness claims the club are reluctant to sanction another costly deal after their signing of Spaniard Javi Martinez last summer.

“I do not think that in the next few years we will buy a player that is more expensive than Martinez,” he told reporters.

Neymar’s future has been speculated upon in recent days with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini also pulling out of the race to sign the Brazilian.

This news seemingly paves the way for a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona once the forward decides to leave Santos.

His contract expires in 2014 and the player has stated numerous times that his desire is to stay in Brazil until after the 2014 World Cup.
