It may only be two days after Carnaval but Taça Guanabara leaders Botafogo are raring to go for Sunday’s Clássico da Rivalidade with Flamengo at Engenhão.

For defender Bolívar, who signed from Internacional last month, it will be his first taste of a Rio derby against the biggest club in Brazil and he is looking forward to the prospect.

“I’ve been told that Flamengo is the main rival of Botafogo. The teams are meeting in a good situation,” he told Lancenet!

“They are the leaders of their groups in the league and whoever wins will be much stronger. It will be a good game and hopefully the fans will attend.”

And it will also be a big game for Botafogo midfielder Andrezinho. The playmaker is a Flamengo fan and started his career at the club.

“It is a game that is more than important. It’s a normal game, but for being a classic the taste of victory is a little bigger.”

Both clubs are yet to taste defeat this season with Flamengo having won five and drawn one of their six games, with Botafogo winning four and drawing two.
