Tottenham"s Kyle Walker has spoken of his encounter with Seleção full-back Dani Alves, claiming that the Barcelona star is his inspiration.

Walker convinced Chelsea defender David Luiz to ask his teammate for his shirt in England"s 2-1 win over Brazil.

"I asked David Luiz. I’ve bumped into David a few times with [Tottenham"s Brazilian midfielder] Sandro, so I kind of know how to say hello and so on," said Walker.

"So I said to David, ‘Would you mind asking Dani Alves for his shirt?"

Luiz duly obliged and, after Wednesday night"s England win over the South Americans at Wembley, Alves handed his shirt to Walker.

The Spurs right-back joked: "I wasn’t sure when he was giving it me if he knew who I was!

"I was just like, ‘Thank you ever so much’ and a bit in awe of him. So if I see Dani Alves, who I watch at Barcelona, I’ll be a bit choked up to talk to him.

“I thanked him for it and tweeted him to say thank you and hopefully I’ll get a few more.

"I can relate to him. For Barcelona he doesn’t play full-back – he’s like a winger, isn’t he? And the wingers tuck in and crowd up that inside bit.

"I’ll frame [Alves’s shirt]. I’ve got a few downstairs where I keep all my shirts. So that will be added to."
