Shakhtar Donetsk’s Willian is hopeful of a call up to the Seleção under Luiz Felipe Scolari after appearing just twice under predecessor Mano Menezes.

In an interview with Goal.com, Willian revealed his national team hopes now that Scolari is in the hotseat.

“I believe that everything starts from scratch when changing a coach. All players want to show their best to claim their place again.”

He also admitted that while the Premier League is his preferred destination, he would not rule out a return to Brazil with Corinthians his favoured destination.

“My goal is to continue in Europe, but never rule out a return to Brazil. Brazilian football is growing considerably.

“Each team has at least three players of great quality. Corinthians is the team that showed me everything, I have great affection for them. It is still early to talk about it, but I certainly plan to return one day to the club.”

But for now, Willian is focusing on leading Shakhtar to Champions League glory:  “Our goal is to go step by step to maybe reach the final of the Champions League.

“Expectations are high. We know that Borussia Dortmund is very qualified, have good players, are doing successfully and managed to qualify in first place in a very strong group.

“But we also know our quality and we have chances to go far. We need to analyse their team well and come with full concentration, since we know that both games will be very difficult.”
