The Brazilian scored a freak goal after spotting Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer off his line and attempted a lob from the half way line only for the Australian to palm onto the post and into the net.

“I’m very happy, so so happy,” the 23-year-old told the club’s official website.”It’s my first goal of the season but I’m happy because we won.

“It was a great win. Everyone played really well and we have to continue playing like this. The supporters were fantastic again, right behind us all the time. We’re all delighted.”

Sandro admitted that he needs to improve the attacking side of his game and try to score more goals for the club.

“I have to shoot more, to try more. It was a good goal. I’m happy because it was an important goal.”

Sandro is one of our 30 nominees for the 2012 Samba Gold Trophy, which recognises the best performing Brazilian in Europe this year.
