Vasco da Gama have completed the signing of Figueirense right-back Elsinho ahead of the 2013 season, after coming to an agreement with Tombense-MG – the club run by agent Eduardo Uram.
Elsinho, 22, will join Vasco on-loan until December 2013 and will compete with Auremir, Jonas and Max for a position at the São Januario.
The full-back will complete the final two rounds of this season with Figueirense before joining up with his new team in January, with Vasco likely to be used as a shop window in attracting an offer from abroad.
The loan system is widely used in Brazil by agents and entrepreneurs looking to advertise their clients and, with Vasco still searching for a replacement for Fagner, the situation looks to suit both parties involved.
The young lateral only joined Figueirense midway through this season, having impressed in his similarly brief spell at Série B side CRB at the strt of the campaign.
