Barcelona’s Martin Montoya has hailed fellow fullback Dani Alves as the ‘best in the business’ as the two players compete for a place in the team.
Montoya was given a starting berth at right back in Alves’ absence but the youngster believes the Brazilian is still the best despite recent injury problems.
The Spaniard told reporters: “He’s the best full back in the business, even though he’s not at 100 per cent right now. I’ve got to learn from him and I’d love to take over from him one day.
“Dani and I both love attacking football. We are okay as defenders too. We try not to let our opponents settle. Alves has so much talent, though, whereas I’ve still got to improve tactically.
“I’m really happy with the way things have been going so far this term. I was hoping to play, but I didn’t expect quite so many games.”
