There were plenty of Brazilians in action tonight’s Champions League. Sambafoot rounds up those that impressed.

Hulk got on the scoresheet for Zenit St Petersburg in the early kickoff against AC Milan as they failed to complete a come back after being two goals down, losing 3-2. The Seleção striker also assisted for Roman Shirokov from a corner for Zenit’s second goal.

Jose Mourinho’s rotation policy saw Kaka play the full 90 minutes for Real Madrid against Ajax, laying on an assist for French striker Karim Benzema for Real’s second as they ran out 4-1 winners thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo hat trick. Left back Marcelo also played in the victory for the Spanish champions.

Fernando helped Porto to a 1-0 victory over Thiago Silva’s PSG after the midfielder assisted James Rodriguez for the winner. No less than eight Brazilians started the game with Porto fielding goalkeeper Helton, Alex Sandros, Danilo, and Maicon. Nêne and Maxwell also featured for the French side.

Andre Santos failed to make it off the bench as Arsenal defeated Olympiakos 3-1.

Hilton’s Montpellier drew 2-2 with Schalke 04 after a late Camara goal rescued the point for the French side.

Felipe Santana came off the bench in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw against English champions Manchester City, the Germans denied a win by a late Mario Balotelli penalty.

In other fixtures, Malaga beat Anderlecht 3-0 and Dynamo Kyiv won 2-0 against Dinamo Zagreb.
