Mano Menezes is wary of the difficulties China pose, as his side prepares for their upcoming friendly in Recife this Monday.

The Seleção will face the Chinese in an international friendly next week, following Brazil’s 1-0 win over South Africa on Friday.

Mano Menezes and his side have been heavily criticised following the narrow victory, with home fans unhappy at the lack of goals.

The Brazil coach believes an early goal is necessary on Monday, as Spain struggled to score in a friendly against China in June.

The 50-year-old said: “We attended the China and Spain match, where the Spaniards only scored a goal in the 82nd minute of the match.

“Everyone has problems against China.

“If we take time to score the first goal, we will experience difficulties also.”

The reigning World and European champions were up against a well-organised Chinese side, who were difficult to break down for large parts of the game.

This style of play is similar to South Africa in last night’s friendly, but Menezes will need a much better gameplan this time round, for the sake of his future as national coach.

The game at the Jose do Rego Maciel Stadium kicks off at 02:00am (BST) on Monday.
