Kia Joorabchian announced plans to build a new stadium for the Brazilian club after failing to reach a deal for their current Estadio Pacaembu home.
“I am going to build a new stadium for Corinthians,” declared Joorabchian. “It’s not a promise, it’s something that I am going to do very soon.
“I have been working here for only three months, but that is the next step that I have planned.
“I have to choose the place where to build the stadium because it has to be comfortable for the supporters.
“My dream was to buy the Pacaembu, where Corinthians plays currently, but it belongs to Sao Paulo state and they don’t want to sell it.
“That stadium is the best place because it has all what I want, but the state doesn’t want to sell it to me.”
