Selecão coach Mano Menezes is not expected to name his final selection until July 6, but the 50-year-old has already admitted that AC Milan defender Thiago Silva will play at the games in London.

Olympic rules stipulate that each team is allowed only three players over the age of 23, and Jefferson claims that along with Silva, Menezes has already decided that David Luiz will fill in one of those places.

“He can only take three players who are over-23, but Thiago Silva and David Luiz are already guaranteed,” Jefferson told Globo Esporte.

“There is still one place in doubt. I am happy to have shown my potential once again. I would support whoever, but I still expect to be on the list.”
