“Bayern Munich is one of the three or four biggest clubs in the world. At Bayern I have the chance to play at the highest level and win titles. I am now 28 years old and would like to take this step in my career,” said Dante.
“Borussia has tried everything to keep me and renew my contract again. I have now played three and a half years here and experienced a wonderful time. I would like to thank everyone at the club and the wonderful fans.
“It hurts me to leave here, but such decisions are in the career of a footballer after all.”
Dante Bonfim Costa Santos, known as “Dante”, came to Borussia in the winter of 2009 from Standard Liege and quickly became a fixture in defense.
In total, Dante completed 91 league games for Borussia, scoring eight goals.
