Speaking yesterday at a press conference in Pereira, Franco said: “The collective game of Mexico worries me, as it is very different to anything else Brazil has ever faced. We must be cautious of this.

It will be a very difficult game, just as against Spain,” he continued. “Mexico will be doing everything to take this opportunity to reach the final, just like us. They are well prepared, well trained, and play very well together.

They are an efficient side, with good marking and a fast counter-attack. But every one of my players is ready to go and play with their full force,” concluded the coach.

Brazil take on Mexico in the U20 World Cup semi-finals in Colombia tonight at 20:00 local time (02:00 tomorrow morning UK time).
