“The decision came about for a number of factors,” club president Giovanni Luigi said. “I understand we weren’t getting results and the team’s performances were unsatisfactory. It was a decision that had to be taken, it was time to make a change.”
Falcao had won the State Championship with Internacional before being knocked out of the Copa Libertadores by Penarol in the round of 16. Internacional is in the middle table of the Brasileirao with 15 points.
