New boss Fatih Terim is looking for a goalscorer after Gala only managed to find the net 41 times in the league last season, and sees Fabiano as the perfect man to fill the role, according to Milliyet.

The 30-year-old joined Sao Paulo in March from Sevilla for €7.6 million, but due to injuries is yet to make his debut, and could leave without playing a single game if Terim is successful.

Bulent Tulun, sporting director at Galatasaray, has reportedly travelled to Brazil to discuss the transfer, with Sao Paulo hoping to recoup most if not all of the fee they paid.

Fabiano’s time at Sevilla saw him earn a reputation as one of the best finishers in Europe, with 108 goals in 122 games. He also scored three goals for Brazil at the 2010 World Cup, and has 28 in 43 caps for the Seleção in total.
