Selecao defender Alex is to undergo a hernia operation and will miss Brazil’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup it has been confirmed.
The website said that Alex has withdrawn from coach Dunga’s squad.
Alex needs surgery on a hernia injury and will undergo the operation following Chelsea’s FA Cup final clash with Everton on Saturday.
Dunga, meanwhile, is expected to call-up a replacement which will be confirmed today.
