The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation ratified the expulsion of Vitor Roque and the suspension date, when ruling on FC Barcelona’s appeal to the referee’s decision in the match against Deportivo Alavés. In this way, the Brazilian will not be able to be in the next match, at home against Granada.

Tigrinho went to dispute a ball with defender Rafa Marín, who suffered a blow to his knee after the play. The referee gave him a yellow card, the second in about five minutes, which led to the red for the forward.

FC Barcelona, which has been harshly criticizing the refereeing, argued that there was an “error” due to “the lack of hitting and the lack of recklessness.” The decision to appeal had already been advanced in recent days by the sports director, Deco, who described what happened as “a normal game action.”

Vitor Roque will be absent in his best moment

However, the Competition Committee, the federative body in charge of analyzing these issues, rejected the appeal presented by the Catalan club and maintained the second warning and consequently the red and suspension. The Barça leadership has 10 days to present a new appeal against this ruling.

Vitor Roque’s absence comes at its best since the presentation last month. He has scored his first two goals in the last two games and his presence seems vital in the face of injuries like that of Ferran Torres.
