Vasco da Gama are reportedly close to announcing an official agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Pec to Los Angeles Galaxy, as reported by Globo Esporte. Following a great performance in 2023, the forward has been called up to the Brazilian U-23 national team that will compete in the Pre-Olympic Tournament in Venezuela this month.
While the Rio de Janeiro-based club would receive around $10 million, the deal could be bigger depending on bonuses and add-ons. The numbers worked for both the 22-year-old striker and Vasco, who rejected an offer close to $6.5 million last year.

This will definitely be a huge blow for Ramon Diaz’s team, since Pec scored 14 goals last season. His stock will probably rise soon, when he represents Brazil in the Pre-Olympic Tournament starting on January 20, which will offer two spots for the upcoming Olympic Games. He could share the attacking line with other young stars like Endrick and John Kennedy.

In the meantime, Vasco are busy trying to strengthen their squad. Paraguayan defender Robert Rojas arrived in Brazil to join in a six-month loan from River Plate with an obligation to buy. With the ability to play both as a center-back and as a right-back, Rojas aims to help a team that avoided relegation in the final matchday of the 2023 Brasileirao.
“Very happy to arrive in Rio and to join a big club. I want to thank all the fans who showed their support on social media. From my side, in every game I play, I will give my best, and I will leave everything for this shirt,” Rojas said upon arriving in the country.
