Thiago Silva is always a reason of speculation during the transfer window. Fluminense fans dream of his comeback to the club and news that he could do it this season grew because of Chelsea’s bad moment as the club will not participate on the Champions League.

Even though rumors erupted, Silva never said that he would come back and even signed a new contract with the Blues, ensuring his services in London until the summer window of 2024. This, however, has brought him some trouble because of the pressure of a return to Brazil.

“Now, at the end of the season, some annoying things happened, and I was very upset because it seems that they threw me against the (Fluminense) fans: ‘Thiago will come back’. At no time did I say that I would return this year, not least because I had renewed with Chelsea two months ago. The news started to come out, nobody denied anything, and the crowd came to my Instagram cursing me. Others supporting me anyway… That wasn’t cool and I didn’t like it, honestly. But nothing erases the love and feeling I have for Fluminense of gratitude,” he told TNT Sports in the USA, where Chelsea is doing pre-season.

“Now, the future to God belongs. Everyone knows how much I want to, however, nowadays it’s difficult to talk to the family, my children don’t want to live in Brazil. So it’s a very complicated situation, but we still have this year to think about and see what we’re going to do next year,” Silva revealed.
