São Paulo’s manager Ney Franco has admitted that the club’s next signings are likely to come from abroad.

The squad is being revamped since São Paulo were eliminated in the Round of 16 of Copa Libertadores.

Cañete, Cortez and five others players have been transfer listed and the club admitted they could sell Luís Fabiano if an offer comes.

The club have also signed Silvinho from Penapolense and are close so announcing the signing of Caramelo and Roni from Mogi Mirim.

Ney Franco also intends to bring big names from abroad, he told reporters: “These issues are handled by the club’s board, especially considering our failure to sign Vargas. Director of Football Adalberto Batista will handle it.”

“There are some talks with players that play outside Brazil, but I prefer that Adalberto Batista talks about it.”

The manager was asked about Galatasaray’s midfielder Felipe Melo and Manchester City’s right-back Maicon, he said: “They are two excellent players, I have even already worked with Maicon. But I would rather not talk about this.”
