One of Palmeiras’ biggest stars is the 28-year-old attacking midfielder, Raphael Veiga. The footballer, who joined Palmeiras in 2017 from Coritiba, has been part of Verdão’s most glorious years, winning countless titles and being a key player in many of them. There’s a reason he’s managed to record 83 goals and 34 assists in 257 games with the team.

Despite his legendary status at the São Paulo club, the midfielder stated in a recent interview with Diario AS that he still dreams of playing in Europe: “I think every player dreams of playing in the old continent to compete with the best footballers in the world, participate in the big championships. I also have that dream, but I am a happy person and if that happens someday it will happen at the right time and it will be very satisfying. If it doesn’t happen, I will continue to be very happy here.”

Raphael Veiga mentions his favorite European teams

However, that was not all, as the 28-year-old midfielder also hinted at the clubs he would like to play for in Europe, naming some of the biggest ones on the international stage: “I like many teams in Europe… Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal, and others like Manchester United. It’s hard to name just one. There are impressive teams and they all have something special and interesting.”

Finally, when asked about his favorite player currently, Veiga admitted that there is a player in the Premier League whom he greatly admires and considers his favorite player: “I love Kevin de Bruyne. He plays in the same position as me and I pay a lot of attention to him. He’s my favorite player and the one I like to follow the most.”
