After leaving the pitch, Neymar received heart-wrenching news: a severe injury to his left knee, including a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus. This setback struck the 31-year-old football sensation after he had already endured a lengthy recovery earlier in the year due to an ankle injury sustained in February.

In his own words, Neymar expressed it is a very sad moment, the worst. While a precise timeline for his return remains uncertain, the severity of the injury suggests a rehabilitation period spanning six to eight months, making it unlikely for him to participate in the remaining season. Despite the challenges, Neymar clings to hope, stating at the time that he has faith and he’s put his strength in God’s hands.

The intricate operation will be carried out by the seasoned orthopedist, Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, who is 50 years of age and holds positions with both CBF and Atlético Mineiro. Neymar’s injury comprises a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus, making this surgical endeavor a notably extensive and challenging one.
