Alessandro D’Alessandro opened the scoring in the first half for Inter and Zampedri was responsible for both goals for the Chilean side in the match.

In the first half, Inter started the game with enthusiasm.

The team took possession of the ball, moving it around trying to open up their opponent defences. Despite having all the possession, the away side still lacked tenacity to get the ball into the goal area. In the 24th minute, a penalty was awarded, Piñares handed the ball in the box following a corner. D’Alessandro took the spot kick and converted to put his side up in the lead.

Inters lead didn’t last. Few seconds later, Musto lost possession of the ball in the midfield leaving the ball for Zampedri.  The center forward levelled the score with his shot deflected off Víctor Cuesta to beat Marcelo Lomba in goal. The equalizer destabilized Inter, causing them to make series of mistakes, putting the team in an awkward position. However, the score line remained the same at the break.

In the second half, the game remain pretty much the same as the first, only that this time the home side were in more control of the ball. Eduardo made series of changes and brought in EdenílsonMarcos Guilherme and Thiago Galhardo. These changes made Inter regain control of the game and they lost two good chances in the process.

Inter pressed so high on the pitch looking for the winning goal but after some series of misplaced passes from Víctor Cuesta, the home side were able to counter allowing Zampedri to once again pounce on the ball and put his team in the lead. The game ended 2-1 against Inter.
