About to complete 50 games in Ludogorets, former Ceará striker talks about returning to the pitch after recovery

Striker Rick Jhonatan, former Ceará and currently at Bulgaria’s Ludogorets, will return to play next weekend. The player who had a surgery on his knee and was in recovery for six months, is about to complete 50 games for the Bulgarian team.

The athlete talks about the happiness of returning to the pitch.

“It’s a great joy to be back doing what I love most, which is playing football. It was a very challenging period, of struggle, pain, but now it’s going to be a lot of happiness. I’m sure I’ll have a great season, work hard and reap the rewards at the end. I thank God, my family, the medical department, physiotherapists, and many people who helped and supported me,” thanks Rick.

For Ludogorets, Rick played in 48 games, scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists.

Since December 2021 in Bulgaria, the player has been important for Ludogorets, especially in the Europa League.

Activities in Ceará

After five years at the club, Rick left the squad with 78 matches played, where he scored seven professional goals. He still won the Northeast Cup title in 2020. At the youth categories, he lifted the Brazilian cup. Rick finished the Série A of Brasileiro in 2021 as second highest scorer of the squad.
