It was a day to forget for Crystal Palace as they suffered a 7-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool on home turf. Mohamed Salah was left on the bench but would still go on to make his mark on the game.

It took only two minutes for the floodgates to open. Minamino grabbed his first Premier League goal for the Reds just two minutes on the clock after a good finish from close range following a good team move.

Sadio Mane got back in the goals with a good strike from just outside the box in the 35th minute.to make it 2-0.

Firmino was the one who supplied the assist.

Just on the stroke of half time, the Brazilian forward then got on the score-sheet after he controlled a cross from Robertson to calmly slot the ball past Guaita.

Shortly after the break, Jordan Henderson sent one in from outside the box to make it 4-0 in the 52nd minute. Mane didn’t look too pleased when he was taken off for Salah in the 57th minute.

The Egyptian was only on the pitch for 10 minutes before his pass found Firmino who fired home his second of the day.

Salah then got a goal for himself in the 81st minute via a header before he scored with an amazing strike from distance to grab his second and Liverpool’s seventh of the day three minutes later.

It was the first time the Reds have registered a seven-goal victory away since their history in the top flight.

The victory also took them five points clear at the top of the Premier League although Tottenham could close the gap if they win. Liverpool next take on West Brom on the 27th of December.
