This Thursday, December 7th, Brazil formalized its proposal to host the 2027 FIFA World Cup. At a meeting at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, representatives of Brazil’s candidacy handed over the Bid Book, a brochure that presents the proposals of the candidate for host country. Furthermore, as a candidate, Brazil confirmed obtaining all required government guarantees and took the opportunity to launch the official campaign video, with a special participation by Queen Marta.

Valesca Araújo, responsible for planning the event’s infrastructure and operations, Manuela Biz, communications consultant, and Luiza Iglesias, art director and creator of the campaign’s brand and visual identity, were received at the headquarters of football’s highest entity by professionals from the department responsible for the application processes for FIFA tournaments. “We are confident that Brazil delivered to FIFA a proposal with solid foundations, supported by the existing infrastructure and the potential impact on the development of the entire ecosystem linked to women’s football in the region”, commented Valesca.

The decision that would guarantee the Women’s World Cup for the first time in South America will take place on May 8, 2024, at the FIFA Congress in Thailand.

“A natural choice”, the official candidacy film

The candidacy’s slogan “Natural Como o Futebol” (“As Natural as Football”) permeates the script of the official candidacy film, which focuses on environmental, financial and social sustainability. Queen Marta is the host who reveals what the world can expect from the Country of Football in 2027.

She guides spectators on a journey through the country’s natural riches, presents the infrastructure ready to host the games, highlights the growth of women’s football , shows the engagement on social media by Brazilian and South American fans, and reminds us of Brazil’s vocation as a successful host. In this context, Brazil claims to be “A Natural Choice” to host the main women’s competition in the world, in three years.
