The Brazilian playmaker was a sensation and a constant menace to Celta, causing all sorts of problems as he drifted into space and pulled the strings.

Coutinho assisted Ansu Fati and somewhat helped Barcelona secure another La Liga win against Celta,

making it their second consecutive victory under Koeman management.

His quick and precise pass gave Fati the chance to open the scoring and Coutinho came very close in getting on the scoresheet himself when his right-footed drive came back off the post.

Fati followed up his wonderful performance over the weekend in a 4-0 rout of Villarreal on Sunday by scoring the opening goal on Thursday before Barca defender Clement Lenglet was harshly shown a red card for a second bookable offence late in the first half.

With the one man advantage, Celta were unable to capitalize and Lucas Olaza’s own goal deflected off Lionel Messi shot, gave Ronald Koeman’s side breathing space to operate with ease.

Messi also had a goal disallowed in the first half for offside although he looked to be level. The Blaugrana were not to be denied another three points as Sergi Roberto added the final flourish in stoppage time as they won at Celta for the first time in five years since 2015.

After defender Lenglet was given the marching order Koeman reacted by substituting Antoine Griezmann with Ronald Araujo, but the Blaugrana doubled their advantage five minutes after the break, thanks to the beautiful play by captain Messi.

Barca return to Camp Nou to play against Sevilla on Sunday while Celta visit Osasuna.
