The clubs of Brazil take a step forward towards the semifinals

Of the seven participants in this edition, only three teams from Brazil are still standing: Internacional, Palmeiras and Fluminense. All of them took a big step in the first leg of the quarterfinals, especially Verdao.

Those led by Abel Ferreira thrashed Deportivo Pereira 4-0 in Colombia, which puts them in a comfortable position for the second leg at Allianz Parque.

The Porto Alegre team also achieved an important result, defeating Bolívar at the height of La Paz. Although it was only 1-0, Enner Valencia’s goal could be key in the series.

The Flu, for its part, became strong at home and defeated Olimpia 2-0 at the Maracana. In this way, the cast of Fernando Diniz will travel to Asunción, Paraguay, with a good advantage to finish what started in Rio de Janeiro.
