Facing a complex situation due to MLS salary regulations, Inter Miami were forced to find a new home for Gregore. Therefore, the Brazilian bid farewell to Lionel Messi and company to join Botafogo, who did not hesitate to break the bank to secure his services.

The top 5 most expensive signings in Botafogo history

With a transfer fee that according to Globo Esporte cost the Lone Star $2.5 million, the former Bahia player became the third most expensive signing in the history of the Rio de Janeiro-based club.
