Facing a complex situation due to MLS salary regulations, Inter Miami were forced to find a new home for Gregore. Therefore, the Brazilian bid farewell to Lionel Messi and company to join Botafogo, who did not hesitate to break the bank to secure his services.

“When it comes to Botafogo’s interest, from the people who are working here, every player aims to work with serious people and in a serious project. I had friends here, I called them and they told me to come. I didn’t even have doubts. It was a good deal for everyone, and the desire of my heart is that we can be very happy here,” said Gregore.
