Brazilian Championship: 3rd round will feature derbies in Bahia, Minas Gerais, and Rio

The third round of the 2024 Brasileirão Betano will be marked by the first derbies of this season. The matches promise to offer a lot of rivalry and excitement for the fans of Bahia, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro.

On Saturday (20), Fluminense and Vasco will face each other in the Giants’ Derby at Maracanã at 4 pm. Later, at 9 pm, Atlético-MG and Cruzeiro will take the field at Arena MRV for the Mineiro Derby. On Sunday (21), Vitória and Bahia will battle for three points in the Ba-Vi, which will be played at Barradão at 4 pm.

In addition to the derbies, there will be two more matches on Saturday and four on Sunday. On the first day of the round, Grêmio will host Cuiabá at Arena do Grêmio at 6:30 pm, at the same time as Corinthians visits Red Bull Bragantino at Nabi Abi Chedid.

At 4 pm on Sunday, Palmeiras will face Flamengo at Allianz Parque, and Athletico-PR will seek three points against Internacional at Ligga Arena. At 6:30 pm, it will be the turn of Atlético-GO vs. São Paulo at Antônio Accioly, and Botafogo vs. Juventude at Nilton Santos.

The date of the match between Criciúma and Fortaleza, with the hosting by the team from Santa Catarina, will still be defined and announced by the CBF Competitions Directorate, due to the match of the team from Ceará in the quarterfinals of the Copa do Nordeste. Leão do Pici will take the field against Altos-PI this Sunday (21) at 7 pm at Arena Castelão.
