After a long time without a win, Arsenal finally took all three points in a Premier League game for the first time since November 1 when they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The mood at Arsenal was a dull one and there were even reports pre-match that Arteta could be sacked if his side lost that game. None of that was going to happen at the Emirates.

The Gunners played a notable amount of youngsters with Brazilian duo Willian and David Luiz missing out.

It saw the north London side start the game with much urgency and a couple of chances in the opening 20 minutes.

The game saw its first real talking point when Reece James was penalized for a tackle on Tierney in the penalty area. Lacazette stepped up to take the resulting penalty and gave Arsenal the lead in the 34th minute.

Arsenal were clearly in the ascendency from that moment onwards and there was to be another match-defining moment soon enough. In the 44th minute, the Gunners were awarded a free-kick from 30 yards out and Granit Xhaka bent in a stunning effort to make it 2-0 for his side going into the break.

The second half started even worse for the Blues. Just 10 minutes into the game, Bukayo Saka whipped in chip that looked like a cross but the ball ended up dinking past Edouard Mendy to make it 3-0.

There was late drama after Tammy Abraham got one for his side in the 85th minute. The game could have seen a tense end when Chelsea were awarded a penalty but Jorginho saw his effort saved by Leno.

Arsenal claimed a much deserved win over their rivals and ended their negative run of seven defeats from their last ten league games.
