In a bitter night for the Seleção, Andrey Santos, the talented captain of the Brazilian youth team, is now turning to new horizons.

After the defeat against Argentina (1-0) in Caracas (Venezuela) during the pre-Olympic tournament, Brazil, the two-time defending champion, finds itself excluded from the Olympic football tournament at the Paris Games this summer. A tough blow for the national team, but an unexpected opportunity is on the horizon for Andrey Santos.

Having started in all three matches of the group stage, the 19-year-old midfielder, loaned by Chelsea, is set to make his debut in Ligue 1 with Racing Club de Strasbourg. The transfer, concluded in the final hours of the winter transfer window, aims to strengthen the Alsace squad for the next three months of competition.

Expected in Strasbourg in the coming days, Andrey Santos could well be ready for action as early as Sunday (1 p.m.) for the match against Lorient in the 22nd round of Ligue 1.

A valuable addition for the club, which is counting on the talent and determination of the young Brazilian captain to energize its midfield and tackle the challenge of the second half of the season.
