After 11 years at the Bernabeu Roberto Carlos is on his way to Fenerbahce; he will complete the season with Real Madrid but move to the Turkish side over the summer.

“Fenerbahce are the club that have shown most interest in signing me and they convinced me with their project. . . I had a lot of offers from Italy, England and other countries but I was keen to help Fenerbahce,” the 34 year old told the Spanish sports daily Marca.

Former Brazil international Zico is the Fenerbahce coach and that was a big factor in Carlos’ decision.

Carlos joined Real from Inter Milan in 1996 and has since become the club’s longest serving foreign player. He will leave Madrid with three Champions’ Leagues medals, three La Liga titles and two Spanish Super Cups.
