Atlético Paranaense announced on Tuesday that they’ve entered into an affiliation with Orlando City, Kaká’s team in Major League Soccer.
A friendly against the team has also been set for February 2017. As part of the agreement, Orlando City will also play a friendly game in Curitiba during their pre-season in 2018. Atlético Paranaense president Luiz Sallim Emed said: “The partnership between CAP and Orlando City offers the institutions excellent experience, sharing opportunity in several aspects: the Administrative and Technical Centre Alfredo Gottardi and Stadium, the training of young players, exchange of players between clubs, consolidation in the training of young players because they must gain experience to live abroad with new technologies. We are very happy with the partnership and Atlético Paranaense will be the first Club partner of Orlando City in Latin America.”
From Orlando City’s side, the main appreciation to the Brazilian club was in relation to its training center. Orlando City president Phil Rawlins said: “We are proud of partnering with Atlético Paranaense, a club with more than 90 years of history. In addition to their success on the pitch, they possess a vast knowledge on the process of developing a successful academy and running a top-notch training facility.”
